    Sibutramine side effects

Sibutramine is the active ingredient used in the Reductil appetite suppressant. It can only be prescribed and not purchased over the counter or online.

Although effective at reducing your appetite and cravings, Sibutramine like many prescription drugs may cause side effects for its users.

    How does Sibutramine work?

Sibutramine works by affecting neurotransmitters in the brain. Neurotransmitters are used to transmit messages between nerve cells. For example the message that you are feeling hungry.

Sibutramine is used to prevent two of these neurotransmitters, noradrenaline and serotonin from being reabsorbed. This means there is an increase in both so you end up feeling fuller with less urges to snack between meals.

    What about Sibutramine side effects?

Although effective as an appetite suppressant, Reductil has now been banned in the UK due to safety concerns over its use. Particularly over fears of heart attack and strokes.

A total of 17 deaths have occurred since 2001, with another 1000 reports from people with serious side effects.

It was shown in an independent clinical trial that Reductil and its main ingredient Sibutramine does cause an increase in heart problems.

Sibutramine is still approved by the US FDA, but Sibutramine side effects include dry mouth, paradoxically increased appetite, nausea, strange taste in the mouth, upset stomach, constipation, trouble sleeping, dizziness, drowsiness, menstrual cramps/pain, headache, flushing, or joint/muscle pain, I don抰 know why anyone would take the risk.

Are there any safe alternatives to Sibutramine?
